Fiber optic cable is an important part of optical communication. From 2016 to the first half of 2018, the "Broadband China" strategy was born, and the fiber optic cable industry was a big success. According to statistics, as of the end of 2017, China has become the world's largest fiber optic cable manufacturing country. In 2017, China's production capacity of fiber optic cables and rods ranked first in the world, accounting for 49.44% of the world's total.
At the beginning of 2018, as China Mobile's FTTH construction is nearing its end, the demand for fiber optic cables has begun to decline, and the problem of excess fiber optic cable capacity has become more prominent.
Today, the fiber optic cable industry has ushered in a new situation: the acceleration of 5G construction.
In late February of 2020, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology held a video and telephone conference, requiring basic telecommunications companies to formulate and optimize 5G network construction plans, accelerate the construction of 5G.
China Mobile, one of the three major operators, officially launched the 5G Phase II wireless network main equipment procurement in 2020.
